"We shared below our three main Why's that are the foundation of the construction services we provide every person. We genuinely care about providing you a stress-free experience and job well done; you'll find that we start off as contractor & client, but we finish the job as friends." ~ JAL
The BABs Construction owner started in residential construction almost 30 years ago. Not finishing college right away, she experienced the different facets of residential construction from the building side, to the agent selling side. Going back to college in her late 20's, she finished her Bachelors in Construction Management around the same time she noticed a trend towards 3D modeling in commercial construction. It did not take any arm twisting, she leaped on board and spent the next 13+ years modeling and building large commercial projects using BIM (Building Information Modeling). A couple years ago, having conquered enough hospitals, industrial plants, and airports, BABs owner and her team now apply the same modeling techniques and procedures to residential construction.
"We are asked often when 3D modeling provides value to a project, and we say anytime you are spending money." ~ Owner
2D plans show the x and y plane, we know from experience it is never a good idea to leave the z dimension up for interpretation. Just like everyone that reads the same book, has a difference vision; project stakeholders read the same plans, but have a different vision. This is a big reason why mistakes are made, and projects have rework.
Reasons to draw your project in 3D:
Did you know, that construction is one of the most important industries in the world? Not only is shelter our first need for survival, before food and water; no other industries would exist without construction. We cannot have a finance industry without banks, we cannot have an education industry without schools, or a healing industry without hospitals.
Think of all the industries that survive off the result of construction. Homes where we can find safety, solace, sleep, and squad times. Schools so we can learn, gyms so we can play, restaurants to eat great food, roads to travel, church for worship, and stores to support our desire and need for things. At the end of our day there is a tangible product that is bringing you adventure, good health, knowledge, sanctuary and so much more. This is a big “why” we love to build. We appreciate being part of creating something that helps the world go round.
Construction used to be called a noble profession, and although it still is, not many realize it or remember why construction was ever called a noble profession.
What makes a profession noble anyway? With millions of professions out there, there are only perhaps 20 or less that people consider noble, that is saying something. We interpret the label noble, with the amount of service that the profession provides the population. Other characteristic's noble professions could have in common: difficult to perform daily, demanding with high rates of burn-out, do not pay enough, takes great effort to join them, requires humility to serve the people without prejudice.
That is why construction is so noble. Whether it's sleet or hail, 120 degrees of negative 15, construction must happen to house the growing population, as well as educate, treat, assist, entertain, heal, provide shelter, feed, and lay them to rest. When we enter the construction industry, we commit to building whatever needs to be built, knowing it is going to serve the people and community in a small or very significant way. It might be hard to see a dirty, sweaty, gruff person on the jobsite and think of them as noble... but they are there for you. They are there to help all of us. So thank them, say "thank you for building us shelter and places for us to live our lives fully." We think you'll make their whole month with that kind comment.
"Anyone handing over the immense trust of remodeling their home, should take an extra ten minutes and ask their potential contractor this important question, "What is Your Why?" The answer makes up the concrete foundation of any business. We believe the "Why" is the gale force behind a company's client dedication, healthy employee-retention, and the noble pursuit of excellence." ~Owner
